ACETIC ACID; OXYQUINOLINE; RICINOLEIC ACID (Aci-jel®) is an agent used to create or maintain the acidity of the vagina. Generic acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid gel is available.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions: an unusual or allergic reaction to acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid gel, eggs, other medicines, foods, dyes or preservatives pregnant or trying to get pregnant breast-feeding
How should I use this medicine?

Acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid gel is only for use in the vagina. Do not take by mouth. Wash hands before and after use. Read package directions carefully before using. Remove the cap from the tube. Reverse the cap and place puncture tip into the tube. Push the cap in firmly to puncture the end of the tube. Screw the applicator onto the tube. Squeeze the tube forcing contents into the barrel until it is full. Then remove the applicator from the tube. Lie on your back with your knees drawn up and insert barrel into vagina as far as it will go comfortably. Press plunger to deposit gel. While plunger is depressed, remove applicator from vagina. Use at regular intervals or as directed by your health care professional.
Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What if I miss a dose?

If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.

other medicines or douches used in the vagina spermicides such nonoxynol-9 or octoxynol
Spermicides such as nonoxynol-9 or octoxynol may have a decreased effectiveness when acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid vaginal gel is also being used. A different method of birth control should be used if you are using acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid vaginal gel.
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about other vaginal products you are using. Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are using, including non-prescription medicines. Do not use acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid gel with other vaginal medications without advice from your health care professional. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.

Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible: vaginal pain or continued stinging or burning
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome): minor vaginal irritation, itching or burning

Tell your prescriber or health care professional if your symptoms do not improve within a few days.
Do not get acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid gel in your eyes. If you do, rinse the eyes out with plenty of cool tap water.
Acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid vaginal gel may weaken certain birth control devices, such as latex rubber condoms, diaphragms, vaginal rings or cervical caps, or make spermicides less effective. This may increase the chance of pregnancy. Tell your prescriber or health care professional if you or your partner may be using a condom, diaphragm, vaginal ring, cervical cap, and/or spermicide during treatment with acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid vaginal gel. A different or additional method of birth control may be needed if you are using acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid vaginal gel.
Vaginal medicines usually will come out of the vagina during treatment. To keep the medicine from getting on your clothing, wear a minipad or sanitary napkin. The use of tampons is not recommended since they may soak up the medicine.
To prevent contamination of the medicine, do not share your acetic acid; oxyquinoline; ricinoleic acid vaginal gel prescription with anyone else.

Keep out of the reach of children in a container that small children cannot open.
Store at room temperature, 1530 degrees C (5986 degrees F) away from heat and light. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
